Cynthia was born in Palatka, Florida and raised all over the world.  Her family moved to the Lawton/Ft. Sill community in June 1998 by way of the military. 

She has worked in media for over 20 years, first in television and now as the Station Manager/Operations Director at KCCU-FM at Cameron University.  She’s been at KCCU-FM for over 15 years.  Cynthia is a Cameron University alumnus with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications-Radio/TV with a minor in Health & PE. 

Cynthia has also been teaching Group Exercise and sharing about healthy living for over 21 years. She taught her first aerobics class in1994 at Ft. Sill’s Honeycutt Gym. Her family moved to Hawaii via the military in 1995 and that’s where she got her first aerobics certification with AFAA (Aerobics and Fitness Association of America).  While in Hawaii, Cynthia taught step aerobics, body sculpting and floor aerobics at the Schofield Barracks Family Fitness Center.  When her family moved back to Ft. Sill in 1998, Cynthia was hired to teach at the Lawton Family YMCA. 

 

Cynthia has been teaching Group Exercise and sharing about healthy living for over 20 years at the Y, in studios, gyms, on military bases, schools, and churches.  She has done personal training, nutrition counseling, and taught classes like step aerobics, water aerobics, body sculpting, cardio kickboxing, indoor cycling, Pilates and yoga, for populations from elementary aged children through active older adults.
